"Motherhood is about raising and celebrating the child you have, not the child you thought you would have. It's about understanding that he is exactly the person he is supposed to be. And that, if you're lucky, he just might be the teacher who turns you into the person you are supposed to be."-Joan Ryan

What's my motivation?

Sometimes I look at other moms, especially mommy bloggers, and think "Wow, she has it all together."

For the record I stayed in my pjs on Monday and Tuesday of this week and did no housework. I gave my toddler two popsicles at midnight when she couldn't sleep. My grass is easily 8" tall and I am growing some of the world's largest weeds in my backyard.

(Seriously, what the heck are these things? I found a recipe for homemade weed killer: fill a squirt bottle with pickling vinegar, 1/2 cup salt, and a squirt of dish soap. Not sure what the dish soap does, but I'll give it a try.)

Back to the point....Sometimes it is hard to find motivation as a mom. One of my favorite secrets to being motivated is to invite people over. That way you have to clean your house. I just started having weekly play dates which should give me lots of motivation to keep the house clean!

What are some things you do to stay motivated in the areas of motherhood, housekeeping, spirituality, or fitness?
